I have a Garmin nuvi 300 SatNav and the UK mapping details are certainly very out of date and when I queried this with Garmin they advised be to contact Navteq. Navteq have never responded and that was after sending them a few emails in the last 3 months.
The latest Garmin mapping details, 2010 issue still does not have my postcode listed and my address is 2½ years old, so it begs the question, how many other postcodes in the UK are not listed ? Even Google Earth have my property imaged and that is June 2007.
Is there any pressure that can be applied through organised and respected websites like this. Surely company’s like NAVTEQ need to be supportive of organisations like Garmin, to ensure that the end-users have faith, not only in the equipment they purchase but also the ongoing updates and future interest that SatNav’s will undoubtedly have.
I would have thought that other using this website have a similar concerns.

You say you emailed Navteq, have you reported the errors/omissions through their 'Map Reporter service here?
Not saying it will be the answer but it may help? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Have now sent a PDF of Google Earth and address details to Map Reporter and await reply - Thanks for the help, I wasn't aware that Mavteq had such a facility. As it is a beta version, I guess it is new. |

My experience with Navteq is that reported problems are fixed very quickly, usually with in one or two months; however, the 6 months quoted for Garmin etc to process these maps is very optimistic! |
