|
|
Hi. I have just downloaded the Euro cameras and Kates text to speech. I have a problem. I thought I would check through before I configure them. I have all the voices but am missing some spec cameras. 20 through to 110 km/h. If I download the file again and unzip it and copy and paste the new ones over will that work, replacing the existing ones for the new ones. Thank you.

Can you confirm which files are missing?
The VOICES for the 20-110km/h SPECS cameras, or the DATA files for them?
I just downloaded the Kate Euro voice files (versions with and without chime) and all the SPECS files from 20 up to 130 km/h (plus 'tba') are there.
I also downloaded the Speed-zoned Euro camera files and note there are no files for 20, 30, 70, 80, 100 or 110 km/h in this month's download, but the others are there (40,50,60,90,120,130, tba). |

Hi Andy. Yes I am missing the 20km/h through to 110km/h spec cameras as you did. All the voices (.ogg ) files are there.

I do have files for 40,50,60,90 km/h.
I just assumed there have never been any specs installations at the other speeds? |

I have 40km/h through to 130km/h on my TT. If that is how it is ,ok but I couldn't understand why the voice warnings were there |

If using the normal method of unzip, then copy and paste used for the GPS files it will if you tell it overwrite only the files with the same name so if anything is missing from a download the older files will remain in place for ongoing use. |

Simple answer to that is that we have been caught out before NOT producing enough different speeds or types.
For example the popular "Liz" voice files were recorded by a real person at a time before several of the camera categories we use today existed, therefore there was no 20mph Gatso file or any for the "pMobile" cameras.
When I made the more recent TTS voice files I just did "all the types at all the speeds" in case they might be needed in the future. |

So just use whats on there. Nothing is missing? If that is the case, no problem, I will just configure what I have. Thanks.

I don't know for certain that there shouldn't be any SPECS at the "missing" speeds, I was just assuming that....
Only the database maestro MaFt can say for certain. |

No, that's exactly what SHOULDN'T happen.
In that case you would end up with out of date files. The way it should work is that if any category has no cameras that particular week, then an empty file should be generated to overwrite the old one. Maybe that system has gone wrong, only MaFt can tell us.... |

yeah, sorry people - i skipped this topic after skimming through the first couple of posts and making the assumption it was about missing voice files!
basically average speed cams's are pretty much a uk phenomenon, not many else where!
