|
|
Hello
I have just received my free upgrade to Tomtom3, however after reading threads on this forum have decided to stick with Tomtom2 for Uk access. I do however need the major roads of Europe later this month
I have successfully installed "The major roads of Europe" on my Storage card along with my existing Tom tom 2 maps of the uk
How do i access the European road maps on the storage card to travel from a point in the Uk to a major town in Spain. Whenever i input a major town in Europe for a demo route it looks for a close match of a town in the Uk to navigate to
So how do i plan a route using the European road maps sent with Tom tom3 and still keep Tom tom 2 uk maps???
Many thanks

From the Tomtom support site:- Quote: | Question
Can I use TomTom Navigator 2 maps in TomTom Navigator 3?
Answer
The maps of TomTom Navigator 3 have been improved. TomTom Navigator 3 cannot read TomTom Navigator 2 maps, TomTom Navigator 2 cannot read TomTom Navigator 3 maps.

So, the only way is to upgrade to TTN3 - to be honest, I don't have a big problem with it, although the changes to street name selection can be annoying. Once you have TTN3 installed, then just choose File->Switch Maps. |

I think there is too much hype about the problems with TT3 going on also in other threads. I always know where I am going before hand, the reason I have Sat nav is to get me there.
If all else fails I use Multimap or Autoroute. Load TT3 and start using it, with the Major Roads of Europe and the itinary function to assist in planning a route, it is great. To get to MRE once you have loaded it, you just "Switch maps"
