Does anyone know how take a 520 to bits? All I can see are 2 screws at the back but it's not coming apart. I've taken 300's and One's to bits but this has beaten me.
I'm trying to replace the speaker as it's a bit distorted(wish i could get a 300 speaker in it, that would improve the sound) _________________ Paul

You need to try harder to get in to the x20 units
Seriously though, have a read through This it shows how to get at the battery, but the same steps will gain you the access you need to the speaker - Mike |

I doubt it's the speaker itself.
The later models all sound poor compared to the old x00 models, and if you are using a Computer/Text to Speech voice they all sound really distorted to me (but you won't have heard those on the 300!).
I think it is an overload on an internal mixer in software. |

I never actually got around to taking it apart and I did wonder if it was the tomtom or the speaker but I have known of speakers failing in One's and XL's _________________ Paul

Agreed... There have been lots of reports of speakers failing on the Ones, but I can't remember a single one on the x20/x30's |
