Hi All
I am sure one of you will know whats going on with my TomTOm 520T. I have two small probs at the moment.
Whenever I connect to home I get a message on my PC telling me I need to restart my TomTom as new applications etc been installed. I follow the instructions, remove it turn it on and off etc but nothing. It still says it each time I connect and therefor eI am not getting mapshare.
Is there a master reset button and will that lose all my settings and favorites etc?
Second thing evey now and again Kate (the voice) stutters when speaking and cuts out parts of words.
Any idea why?
Thanks |

You have two methods to reset the device:
1/ A paperclip/ pin pressed in to the reset hole on the base of the device (this will not lose any settings)
2/ Change Preferences/ Restore Factory Settings - this will reset the device back to the out of the box condition and you will lose settings.
As for stammering voices, there is a rather long thread about this issue (look for the thread that is 34 pages long in the index of this forum section) - I posted some instructions on page 28 of that thread which some of us have found to work quite well although its not 100% and will prevent you from using the Home Interface fully - Mike |

For issue one - Remove the software (JUST delete the files that are not in any folders, NOT any of the folders) and get Home to reinstall it.
Do a full Windows Explorer backup first though - instructions in the FAQs near the top of this forum's index.
For issue two - please put in a complaint to TomTom, because they are being VERY slow at sorting this one out. |
