|
|
Whenever I download the beta version of the PoiLoader for my Garmin (to enable me to load wav versions of the Andy Siddell voice alerts) I keep getting the following error message when I try to open the application:-
Incorrect or missing language dll file. Please reinstall PoiLoader_Lang.dll.
Any idea what the problem is would be much appreciated. |

I read recently somewhere on here that the latest version of POILoader now supports wav again, in which case the beta versiuon is no longer needed? _________________ David

Thanks.
I noticed from the list that Paul provided, there is a POIloader for Windows 253.exe. I will download it and try that version. |

Did you download it from the Garmin link I gave you in the second posting?
It works for me since August. _________________ Garmin Oregon 300 + Garmin iQue 3600

I have downloaded from eyeQue's link and used that version to update my Garmin 205W. Although I have not been able to use the unit in practice (pass a speed camera) I cannot see the .wav files on my sat nav. |

Yet a further update.
Having read through a host of topics and threads on this issue, I have downloaded the POILoader that is supposed to support wav files (version 2.5.2), a utility called sox.exe and have converted the voice files from MP3 to wav (PCM 44.100KHz, 16 bit, mono). However, whenever I approach a speed camera all I get is the bing bong warning, no voice alert.
Has anypone got the voice alerts to work with a Gamin 205W? |

The version that is supposed to offer WAV support is 2.4.2 BETA. However it's an unsupported version.
Although it is often mentioned that 2.5.2 offers WAV support I've never seen Garmin officially state it does and never seen anyone succeed to load WAVs with 2.5.2. I believe it's a typo and the writer meant 2.4.2 and not 2.5.2. |

Paul,
When I look at the various POILoader options there is a 242.exe (no beta suffix) the only versions with a beta suffix are 2400 and 2401.
Which one do you suggest I try? |

I've cracked it!!
I was using the wrong speed camera database. When I used "Speed Zone by Type" instead of "Consolidated by Type" the voice alerts worked. It would appear that POILoader 2.5.2 along with sox.exe works for wav files. |
