I have just downloaded 8.15 maps to my device and thought I would transfer version 8.10 to my memory card. I plugged the card into my PC to delete current map v8.05 and it started home up and gave me option to update the memory card that was inserted into my pc and not my tomtom 730. I declined this time as not sure what if anything could go wrong but can I update the card via my pc as I thought all updates had to be done via the tomtom device. I believe it would have been easier via the PC which is running vista btw. _________________ Tom Tom 730, app 8.010, gps v1.21, boot 5.5010 map western & central europe v810.1940 |

If you copy all your files from the Go to a memory card and put it in the PC, Home thinks it is connected to your Go. It would update the memory card if allowed. If you wanted to run you Go from the memory card you could but I would personally rather run it from the internal memory. |

Thanks mrT I have the new maps on my internal flash/hard drive and always use them but I like to have a back up on my SD card of the older maps, I go to France around 3 times a year so like to keep a back up set on SD card just in case, thks for the reply. _________________ Tom Tom 730, app 8.010, gps v1.21, boot 5.5010 map western & central europe v810.1940 |
