Dear friends,
being quite a newbie I do not understand very well the meaning of the different comparison test...

Did anyone try (inside his car) both Socket BT and Fortuna Clip-on BT receivers and so tell me which one could be better and why ?

Please, tell me your personal opinion.
Travelling a lot with rental cars I need to have (always in my pocket) the "right" device...

Thanks for your support,

brando

All our reviews are based on using the GPS in a car a good 70% of the time, and out walking in clear sky and under foliage (trees).

The Socket BT GPS/Emtac BT GPS works slightly better in-car as it has a better patch antenna than the fortuna.

However, it all depends on the windscreen of the car and if it's UV coated. If it is, then it will dampen GPS signals and you may need a Re-Radiating antenna that re-radiates teh signal from an antenna on the roof of the car, down a cable to a small stick like antenna inside the car.
