TravelPilot Lucca MP3 map problem

Hi

My dad has just got a TravelPilot Lucca MP3 free with his motorhome.
It is connected to the Blaupunkt radio for TMC via a cradle.

He is having a few problems with it, though

when he has set a route all the directions are for right hand drive, ie it routes you down the wrong side of a motorway/dual carriageway, and the wrong way around roundabouts.

The unit is set for UK and the map is UK
We have read the manual from cover to cover and played with the unit, but I cant see how to change this.

If I do a hard reset, the language reverts to German, the manual says default language is uk?
