I sent my tomtom 910 to be repaired as it wasn't holding battery charge, they replaced the HDD and the mainboard. I reloaded the latest maps and now it freezes and turns itself on and off and I cant do any routes. It seems OK when connected to tomtom home though?
any suggestions? I am hoping to avoid having to send it back to TT if possible.
thanks

The first thing to try is resetting the device with a pin, have you tried this yet?
The reset switch is located on the underside of the device adjacent to the connection strip see Here for a few pictures, note you will have to select your device from the drop down box for the pictures - Mike |

Assuming you have a full Windows Explorer backup since the device was returned but prior to the fault occuring I would format the drive within the 910 then re-load everything.
Make sure it is working then let Home update the maps which will be available for a 12 month period for downloading again.
Which map have you installed to the 910 that is causing the problems? - Mike |

Hi
I downloaded the latest map V7.25, i dont know of course why it caused the problem, because it was a direct download from tomtom.
anyway i spoke to tomtom and they gave me a list of instructions which include - Delete the Application Files, Delete the Downloaded Program Application file on your computer, Run the Clear Flash Tool, Run a Disk Error check and finally reinstall the application via TomTom HOME, then turn off tomtom and then back on. I then had to reinstall my maps.
if you want the full instructions i can let you have them - let me know.
this has seemed to fix the problem! so fingers crossed!!
thanks
