Hi
My 6-day-old Navman S50 3D died earlier today. I had a few gripes with it, but nothing I couldn't deal with (I was a TomTom user until it was stolen!) I went to remove it from the cradle earlier today, moved the switch to "off" and it didn't go off. I put it into its pouch thinking maybe it was just being a little slow, but when I got it back out, it had some message on the screen about memory (can't remember exactly what it said) and it wouldn't respond at all. At this point the switch was still in the "off" position. Next thing I tried was to move the switch to "reset" - a logical step I thought. Well it went off, but when I switched it back to "off" the splash screen appeared with the lady hanging out of the car and it won't move from there. I've tried connecting to the PC with the USB cable and it isn't even noticed. Has anyone else experienced the same? And more importantly can anyone help??!
Thanks in advance... Lisa |

You shouldn't have this kind of problem with 6-day old device -- take it back to shop for replacement. |

That's what I thought... I bought it through Littlewoods catalogue, so technically it's still within the 14 day approval period and they tell me I have to call Navman! I'm not happy, especially seeing the posts about the length of time I can be waiting on the phone
Thanks anyway. |

Mention the Sale Of Goods Act that states you have a contract with the Retailer (Littlewoods) and they are responsible for refunds / replacements in the first year. This is quite good. In some circumstances you are covered up to 6 years. If they get difficult tell them you'll go to Trading Standards. If they still refuse, do it.
Some retailers are ignorant of the Law, others believe they can bend / break it. |

Thanks for that... I usually know my rights and quote them quite boldly but I obviously forgot in the stress!! You wouldn't believe that they missed the initial delivery because they couldn't find my address - talk about irony! The result is that it's being collected tomorrow and a new unit delivered... hopefully |
