I'm confused!
The Nokia 6300 isn't listed by Tom Tom as a compatible mobile for Plus services.
I have heard that it's because it doesn't have the required type of software.
How come therefore my set up worked perfectly for traffic services etc for a few days on two occasions but then stops and won't load traffic updates. It keeps trying to load but something is stopping it.
Surely if the software is incompatible it wouldn't work at all?
Why does it stop working for no apparent reason?
I've tried asking Tom Tom but get no sense and Nokia are no help either.
Any help appreciated.

Anyone got any opinions on this they're willing to share?

Best I can come up with...
TomTom may not have it listed either: because it doesn't work or: because they just haven't tested it.
Software very rarely works perfectly or not at all, it's never that black or white.
Usually it has umpteen, more or less troublesome, bugs; and time and energy is required to tame them as much as is deemed economically and technically sensible. Look at 'Home' for example! |

I have a 6300 with a 910. I do not use plus services but I have noticed that whilst the hands free works with voice communications the 910 will not read out loud text messages, not even acknowledging their arrival but it I can compose and send them from the 910. |

If you look at the compatibility list for the 910, there are quite a few phones that can do basic hands-free, but not the cleverer stuff.
Obviously the ONE is restricted to Plus services only. |

Are you using a Text To Speech voice for the navigation or not? - text messages will only be read out while using TTS, although I hasten to add the above is no guarantee that it will work with your phone.
As Andy has said, the phone isn't listed so it might work, this "might" could mean full functionality, partial functionality or nothing at all - Mike |

Thanks for that Mike
Yes I am using TTS. My previous Nokia phone did everything, so the 6300 must use different software.
