hi i have a harman/kardon gps-500. and i want to set up the speed cameras database and not sure what i have to download or anything!!

I done a search and Mike posted this responce to someone the other day who has the same system

I also looked up the maunl on the web

And it says it has a built in poi list but nothing about if you can add custom poi's so do as mike said |

| As far as i can work out i dont think you can put your own poi's on it unless someone works out how to get around it the sd card is only for media and video |

Hi, new to Sat Nav.
I have just bought the GPS500 and with regards to the Speed Cam data, if you read the online FAQ's it states that the unit does have Safety Cam recognition but for legal reasons it's not activated, you have to download POI-WARNER installer to activate it.
The only problem is that the site that it's downloaded from mentions update subcriptions so I don't know if you have to pay to actually have it work.
I noted that the installer created a folders on the SD card called POI/SPEEDCAM with two files..POI_WARNER_FIX and POI_WARNER_FIX.SPE.
Don't know if these files contain any data and haven't road tested the unit since installing the program but maybe the more knowlegable members may know if the unit can accept custom POI's. |
