I have just received an City Navigator Europe 2008 update CD from Garmin. I requested this via myGarmin on their website.
On the front it states "update for StreetPilot, c-series, i-series, 2720,7200, 7500 and Quest2"...nothing about Nuvis.
On back of case it has S/N UB28407178.
Is this the correct update for my Nuvi? _________________ Nick Russell

"Me Too" and I have a Nuvi 670. I opened the disk and installed it before realizing that. It put things into C:\ went through the unlock code stuff (I see online in myGarmin that I now have a code for City Navigator NT Europe 2008) but...
it did not copy to my Nüvi 670. Instead, the install program finally said "no update required". Ha! A check on my Nüvi and it still had the old v9 version (2008 is v10).
I tried using the crappy support system at Garmin's website but it never did anything after I clicked the "Send email" button on their form!

From the text you state, this looks like the disk that works for those units, although mine has a slightly different S/N on the back.
More important is probably the 007-00156-03 Rev. A on the back, as well as 171-00074-03.
On the disk itself the numbers are:
007-00998-04 Rev. A
A00-10265-04
For the Quest 2 that disk does work. But to my knowledge, the nüvi requires a different one.

On the back of my DVD there's all this:
S/N UB284...
Update DVD- MapSource
City Navigator Europe NT
2008
007-00156-03 Rev.A 171-00074-03
The disc itself has the banner "Update" across the top, and this helpful phrase on the left: "For various comaptible (sic) NT units" |

I got my disk today too. Too late for my i3.
A quick look on this page and there's a long list of models (inculding the Nuvis) under Product Compatibility on the right hand side. |

Did your disk have the same details as mine? _________________ Nick Russell

I received 2 copies of the DVD - they both have the same details on the front of the case as yours. On the back, the serial number is slightly different on each DVD and also different to yours. However all the other identifying numbers are exactly the same as in the earlier post by BeatO.
I installed the DVD on my PC and it immediately went and updated the attached Nuvi. When I tried to run MapSource to update the second unit it kept failing as it was trying to add the maps to the unit and kept telling me there was not enough space.
I then got it to work by going through the installation again but with the second unit attached. At the end of the installation it then went off and updated the second unit's maps.
I wonder if it is possible to get MapSource to update a unit in place rather than just add to it. _________________ Red Squirrel

I have a nuvi 300 and also received the "update for StreetPilot, c-series, i-series, 2720,7200, 7500 and Quest2" after ordering the update online. I contacted Garmin UK and they are sending me a replacement disk as the original disk will not work with the nuvi. |

Update...
I telephoned Garmin. They said my CD is OK as it was for a replacement unit. (which it was original was exchanged under warranty).
They sent me an email with unlock code and all installed OK. _________________ Nick Russell
