anyone know why when i first started my tomtom one 3rd edition from new the drum sound played but ever since the drums have fallen silent? I read on another forum that if you pull the usb lead from a pc or use the reset button the drums start up again. Is this just a warning feature or should the drums sound every time the unit is started?
Can anyone also tell me where the sound file is stored on the unit?
thanks in advance oh and Hi this is my first post.

Hi and Welcome!

The drums should only be heard when the TT does a complete re-boot, not when just "switched on". (When you "switch off" the TT, you are really only putting it to sleep, the program is still running).
There is no separate sound file, it is hard-coded into the operating system.

Crikey,
that was quick I didn't quite expect such a full answer in such a short space of time. Many thanks.
I am not to sure whether the 3rd edition was the best purchase to have made but it is replacing an ageing PDA with the Navigator 5 software. The PDA's processor is a little slow and has sent me on a few wild goose chases at times.
