Vodafone PAYG works very well for me with TT traffic, good coverage and reasonably priced.
I have seen that others recommend T-Mobile but I believe that they have recently introduced a fixed charge of £1/day for data on PAYG. I have never used £1 of data in a day on Vodafone with the TT set to update evry 10 mins. |

The TT is at home and I am at work.
I'm using a Nokia 6230i
The settings may vary between phones.
I'll post my settings here tonight when I get back to the TT, sometime after 9:00 I expect, unless someone comes along sooner to help you.
If you have a different model phone it may help to post details here as there may be others who have the settings for your model. |

Paul, Contact Vodaphone and ask them to enable full GPRS connectivity on your handset as it is probably just set to WAP by default, the TomTom Traffic connection requires GPRS connection to work correctly, all they do is send the phone a text message which alters certain settings enabling the correct mode, this isn't something you can do on the handset yourself - Mike |

Sorry I didn't manage to get back to you last night.
The settings that I am using on the TT are:
Access point name: pp.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
Obtain IP address automatically
DNS address assigned automatically
Dial: *99#
Login script: at+cgdcont=1,"IP","pp.vodafone.co.uk" |

T-mobile have scrapped that idea by all accounts. |

Thanks for the reply
Contacted Vodafone and the sent the settings via text
In the internet profiles it added PAYT Internet.
And still my TomTom won't connect. Did they send the correct settings, should it say something other than PAYG Internet, I alrady had PAYG WAP on the phone.
Thanks

That sounds about right, at least the phone network is now providing the correct service, have you tried the settings that pcaouolte posted earlier in this thread? - Mike |

What phone are you using?
In my configuration settings on a Nokia 6230i I have a Vf Pre ISP profile which supports Web and Multimedia Messaging. Can't remember where I got this from, it may have been the Nokia web site.
Under GPRS modem settings I have Active access point: pp.vodafone.co.uk and Alias for access point: pp.vodafone.co.uk |

Ok, because its a Sony-Ericsson, on the TT I think you need to change the Dial: string from *99# to *99***1#
I haven't got a S-E phone to try so I am working from memory. |

Just had a reply from TomTom about this problem.
Aparently its because the K800i is incompatible.
And so is the K750i that I also have.
Very odd considering that they both work when connected to Orange. |
