Recently bought a new UK map from Tom Tom for my TT1 new edition.
Trying to dowload this and it is saying it will take 15 hour to dowload.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong.
I deleted my old map from the card (after backing up) and I am trying to download the new map onto the orginal card supplied by TT. There is enough space.
Thanks. |

I think 15 Hours is a long time. The average i have heard is 30-45 minutes for a UK map. I would check that you are not running any other programs and maybe the speed of your internet connection. The PC stuff is a bit out of my league but i think your problem has something to do with it. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

The TomTom servers seem to be incredibly slow, but 15 hours for a UK map seems excessive even for them.
I've downloaded three maps recently, 2 W Europe maps took 3-4 hours each and a W+C Europe took 5 hours.
There's not a lot you can do about it other than trying again later. I've heard of people downloading in the middle of the night in the hope that's quicker.
Finally, if you are just looking at the timer above the progress bar, that is totally inaccurate anyway! |

I started to dowload at 0600hrs one moring and it was done for 0730, I think it was due to a slow connection perhaps at busier times and I'm sure my internet connection is not the fastest. But it's done and works fine. Thanks for all the replies. |
