|
|
As I'm off to Florida later in the year and TomTom are offering 50% off maps, I thought I'd buy the map for my UK One (original version).
Couple of questions:
1 - Will it work? (might have to upgrade the application? If so, is this free?)
2 - Should I get the whole US or just the south-east? It's only £5 more for the whole US so it's the logical choice, but is it not as detailed?
3 - If I get the whole US, does it load state-by-state, or is it one huge map? If so, what size SD card do I need for it?
Thanks very much!! |

The Maps will work on your Device.
1. If you are going for V7 Maps then you will need to update the Software to V7.xxx. The Software is free, only the maps are paid for.
2. The recommended US Map for the ONE is 924MB, so would go on a 1GB Card. I don't know what the detail difference is between the Maps.
3. One huge Map, for seamless navigation.
(And that's a couple?) _________________ Richard

Functionally, the maps are all the same. There are some differences in the display detail between the "USA and Canada" map (<1GB) and the "North America" map (~1.4 GB). For example, Airport Polygons are just polygons in the USA/Can map, whereas you see the airport and the runway in the NA map. I assume (but certainly don't know for sure) that the regional maps have the same detail as the North America map.
If there's no difference in cost, I'd get a 2GB card and the North_America map. |

Thanks very much for answering my couple(ish!) of questions.
One further question (and I mean one!): If I buy upgrade my software to V7 will my existing UK map stop working requiring me to buy another UK map as well? |

V7 works with my V650 Maps, and I believe it will go back further. _________________ Richard

No need to buy an upgrade to v7 software. It's free. |
