nuvi 250 mains charger

hi i have a nuvi 250 and was wondering if anyone can tell me if a motorola phone charger will be ok to charge the nuvi i seem to remember reading somewhere that someone has used this before but cannot remember whet model etc thanks

In theory any USB charger will do.

If the device is well discharged the initial current can be around 1A - which some devices (notably PCs) can't deliver - which significantly increases the time to charge.

Of course - using a non-Garmin charger may void any warranty if it damages the unit in anyway.

Some chargers will fool the unit into thinking that it is attached to a PC and it will not go into navigation mode. This happens with my 660 and a usb car charger, so I cannot use a simpler cable if I do not want the TMC receiver connected.
