I have a TT One (original) running 7.131 software and Great Britain Map v605.0
I would like to update the map.
In doing so, will I lose my speed camera settings and voice warnings?
I have insufficent memory to keep the old map, and so will have to remove this before adding the new map.
I am assuming of course that the new map is worth upgrading to!
Thanks for any assistance/asnwers.
Regards

Why not buy a new SD Card? they are quite cheap at the moment. Then you would at least have a working Map to fall back on if anything should happen.
As to the cameras and warnings, you can copy the ov2, bmp and ogg files to the PC and when the new Map is installed just copy them back again.
The other file you need to save is MapSettings.cfg. Then copy that also to the new Map Folder and it should keep all your settings.
There are several differences between the 605 and 710 Maps. Probably enough to make the outlay worthwhile. You will also be able to make use of MapShare to correct one way streets that are wrong, etc. _________________ Richard

Thanks Richard,
I had not realised how cheap SD acrds had become. I will replace my 256mb card with a 1GB card, and do as you suggest with the maps.

Future proof your self, 2gig or 4 gig is much better than 1 gig, and the price difference is not that great. _________________ Want to get lost, forget your Tomtom next time you go out?

But if you opt for a 4GB card, make sure it is one that DOESN'T use "SDHC" technology, they won't work on a TT One. |
