|
|
Hi All,
Plugged in my One Europe V2 into the PC, first time in ages and have updated to version 7.120. Noticed several new options have appeared on the menu's, in particular 'HELP ME', which has an icon for 'First Aid Guide' and 'Other guides'. Unforunately all I get is an error message saying No information is available ?? Any ideas where I can find this info ??
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but if it has I can't find it !
Thanks
Mark.. |

The files should reside in the mapshare folder which is located in the root of the memory card or Flash memory depending upon device, I am not too sure where you can get the files from though as I have never seen them for download. AFAIK they should be supplied with the new application, for some reason they have been forgotten about - Mike |

Has anyone who needs these guides actually asked TomTom for them and got a reply, (yes or no)?
Also, still wondering how DonnyMark "got it working"..... |

I asked TomTom and this was their reply -
The First Aid Guide and Other Guides are only available when using at least map version 7. If you are using a previous version you will not be able to access the menu's.
To check your map version:
1. Tap on the 5 white GPS status bars on the main map screen
2. Tap on the version that appears on the next page
3. The following page will display your map version
If using version 6.XXX you cannot access these features. You must use version 7.XXX. To purchase the latest map please click on the following link; http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/select.php. |

The files that are required are supplied with the devices running version 7 software, they are not supplied with a version 7 map as far as I am aware (anyone care to check this - there should be a "HelpMe" folder once the new map has been installed IF what TT support have said is correct).
The files from any of the devices supplied with the HelpMe function will work on the other earlier units like the x10 and One XL etc - Mike |

You may well be right.
The TomTom website implies that it should work with all devices.
They do not mention that map version 7 is necessary.
Their website states -
When you update your TomTom device to use application version 7, the first thing you will notice is the fresh new look of the user interface. The menu buttons and device features from the previously installed version will still be there, along with the new features for version 7.
The list of features for your TomTom device will depend upon which model you are using, but the following features are available on all TomTom models.
TomTom Map Share™
(not available on TomTom RIDER & TomTom RIDER 2nd edition)
This unique technology enables you to instantly add, update and personalise your maps. It also lets you easily share and benefit from changes made by other users via TomTom HOME. TomTom Map Share™ technology means that TomTom drivers can always have the most up-to-date maps.
Help me!
Help me! provides numerous information and safety features, such as the route and phone number for the nearest hospital, First Aid guides provided by the British Red Cross and car maintenance guides provided by automobile clubs.

Hi, I have updated ther POi's from the TomTom site,
http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?FID=7892&Lid=1
But I can't say it has made any difference, except the Hospitals, the rest are the same, it does say,
Note:
The files offered in this article are only compatible with map version 7.05.
Click here to learn how to check the map version on your device.
Is this why, it says there are 1000 POi's in one catagory, I haven't got that many. Can I manually download them with windows explorer, where are they in the TomTom, and are they ov2 files? thanks for any help. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |
