Sorry to be dull but when am I right in thinking that as I installed european maps onto my desktop did they also install onto my PDA
Only asking as when I open desktop application and go to download wizard and then to region, it gives me the option to download different parts of europe:?:
Also I'm off on holidays soon in Exmoor and I've seen when I open desktop application and click download wizard that you can install city radius details. Are these installed already on my PDA as lets for instance say that I want Cardiff city radius. Well from what it installed as part of the initial install, it has Cardiff on it already and it all works fine, so what extra would the city radius feature do
Its all quite complicated as manual is a bit feeble
The city radius option is a mapping option that allows you to only download a small area if that is all you are likely to travel in. It obviously takes up less card capacity than a full map. _________________ Mike

Downloading maps to the PDA will overwrite whatever is there, so you can't really load "extra" things.
The simplest method is to select "Map Area" option, and select the largest rectangle your SD card can hold. Trial and error necessary here. Each "Map Area" or "City Radius" map you specify will get a name, and you download these named sets. In the PDA you can switch from one set to another, but it is more useful to have one big set, a Map Area, or a huge circle around a City Radius. If you do have reason to download multiple sets (several disjoint cities, small SD card), each time you want to add one you will need to select the desired others from the name list on the left so that the old ones will also be included in the new download.
I have not tried the map selection feature "By Region".
If you have really different Map Regions, like US and Europe, you can only use one at a time in Desktop. Select the one of interest under Map, Map Regions menu. It will prompt you to restart CP for the new region.
Good luck. _________________ Doug
