|
|
Please can someone help !!!
I have a garmin 300T and have downloaded some POI's but when I use the Sat Nav they will not show on the base map as I get near them? The only POI's that show are the Speed Cameras.
The POI's I have downloaded and put on the Sat Nav using POI Loader only go into my favourites and can only be selected individually, so for example I would like RBS cash points to show on the base map but when using POI Loader they will only show 1 after I select it from my favourites and not put all the csah points on the base map while travelling past the POI's.
I have used a navman and they show all the POI on the base map when you travel near them.
Please could someone help! been trying for a couple of days now......
Thanks in advance...... |

Hi
Multiple entries on one subject on a forum are classed as spamming and not the thing to do. Just ask the question once and some one will get back to you. |

You could try creating your POIs as 'mock' speed cams. To do this simply add @0 to the end of the POI name. They will pop up at a predetermined distance together with accompanying 'bongs'. The sound can be got rid of by creating a silent mp3 with the same name as the POI file and loading this with POILoader. _________________ Phil |

Would you need a silent MP3, could you just not have one? |

You need one because by default Garmin only makes POIs with Proximity alerts visible all the time, such as Safety Camera POIs. Normal POIs don't show unless they are via or destination points, such as Asda or Petrol Stations.
In order to make them appear the instructions given above effectively sets Proximity Alerts for the POIs. The default sound is a Bong, Bong sound. After a while it gets very annoying, so a silent mp3 is used instead to play a "silent" alert. Without it you get the default bong, bong sound. |

Ahh... Thanks for the insight, that will come in useful. |
