|
|
Even though I have set an alarm for the UK Safety Cameras when I pass them by, nothing happens; why is this?
When I checked the preferences and clicked on the Saftey Cameras it says oddly, "remove warning", as if by default thewre is already a warning selected, and yet I hear nothing. |

2 things spring to mind.
Have you got the sound turned down, or muted?
Did you tick the Option to 'Warn Only if POI is on Route' and wasn't using a Route? _________________ Richard

I had this also when I upgraded to 6.14 recently.
I rectified it by just going through the process of resetting them all up.
Note: I had to remove the "warn when near POI" then re add them all again. worked perfectly after. _________________ ________________________________________

I had a similar thing on my TT 510 after an automatic update, not sure if it updated the camera database, but afterwards if I selected 'Polite 2' the unit would not sound when approaching a camera, select the more annoying Nokia style Polite 1 and it would work........ very odd
nickmon, when it displays remove warning, have you tried selecting 'no' to progress to the next few screens and select a different tone?? _________________ Kenwood KVT627 linked to KNA-G520 nav

The problem seems to be that the "40" sign for the speed camera (which should say '30') seems to be a bit further back from the roadside on the map, and presumably therefore does not activate the alarm. It's the wrong speed in the wrong place. |

Is this just on the one camera then, or do you have this problem with all cameras? |

I got out and tested my TomTom right away and this is the speed camera nearest me, and I find it gives inaccurate infromation. If there was a way of photohraphing it i'd let you see it. |

nickmon, could you please specify the offending camera ID so someone can take a look at this, go to the Browse Map funtion, zoom in to the location where the camera is and tap it, this will bring up the ID of the camera.
This is far easier than photographing the device in use and gives more information.
In addition to the camera ID can you please specify what Icon was dispalyed on the screen in terms of speed, and the allert issued by the device (assuming you are using spoken alerts), with this information we might be able to shed some light on the issue - Mike |

Since I've changed to spoken warnings I'm seeing 2 issues.
Even though 'warn on route' is ticked I recieve warnings for some cameras that are not and have recieved no warning for one camera.
As far as I can recall this was not a problem when I use the consolidated by type DB. |

There is a bug in V6 that if consecutive POI Warnings are the same, without a direction instruction between them, only the first will be announced.8O _________________ Richard

Oldboy,
Do you mean that if you are not navigating to anywhere in particular, and you pass one 30mph camera you will get the usual warning, but if you then pass a second 30mph camera you will not be warned of it ? If so, then this is not just a bug but it affects the whole point of the speed camera database and PGPSW need to get onto Tom Tom to get this corrected pronto !! I'm sure I read in a previous post somewhere that people who had TT x10s were putting in double warnings for each camera so that each second warning could be safely ignored without affecting the operation of the device. _________________ Tommo...
