From the site:
Quote: | A speed camera is a blunt and heavy instrument, like a hammer.
It has far reaching effects. It changes driver behaviour. It changes everyone's safety priorities. It changes the way the roads are policed. It has done immeasurable damage to the police / public relationship. Far from being a precision tool, it's the equivalent of a rather heavy and badly aimed hammer.
Speed cameras are obviously bad psychology. |

Gif,
Thank you and I fully understand the question, also I know and other are fully sick with safety camera and is so boring of old safety camera everywhere the rest in UK of step over the mark a little bit to pay a fine and point of which there is no cars, no peoples on the road in the late night after 12.00am in the morning of no accident whenever, all road is clear and the safety camera don't have a net to save life none at all.
The safety camera should be turn off during the nite after 12.00am in the morning in a quite lane all clear road.
Safety camera is a "cash machine". |

Hi Stargate2006,
To quote from the link -
Quote: | So here's the truth. Speed camera policy has failed catastrophically. Department for Transport KNOWS that it has failed but won't admit their deadly mistake and pull the plug. They seem to be hoping that speed cameras will fade away over the next five years, yet they know that the policy isn't working and is costing lives. If that's not a reason for road users to get angry, I don't know what is. |
As we have all known for some time the speed camera issue is all about making money rather than saving lives, the argument about where the money ends up is irrelevant, all the others figures given to us are a smoke screen to cover the £million's taken from our pockets. _________________ TomTom Go 60

I can't understand why those Eurocrats in Brussels aren't jumping on nthis kind of thing - they're the first to dictate stupid things like the length and bend of cucumbers, but when it comes to real issues they bury their heads in the sand...
...the 'benefit' of having non-elected European Commissioners, I guess
...and if it really is a safety issue, then why do we keep hearing stories of big wigs and senior police officers getting off speeding fines on some technicality or other that never seems to apple to 'Joe Public' _________________ Andy
