Does anyone know how or where i can download at purchase, additional country maps for my Mobile navigator 4.
I have bought an addtional sd card, and wanted to get other europe maps, but on the navigon site which is a little useless to be polite, the clevermap only caters for MN5.
My manual does state that other maps are on cd2 and 3, but i only recieved 1 cd with mine which has UK Ireland. |

I think people are well past Navigon 4. I doubt Navigon would have an up to date map anyway. Have you considered upgrading to Navigon 6? Supposedly, it is now available |

Hi and thanks for the reply buddy
Well yes MN4 is not the most recent, but il tell you somat its a cracking bit of kit and sdoes not hang lock up etc and works well with POI warner.
Great system and software better than MN5!
However im not looking for updates, i simply want the cd's that have the other european countries on them.
Its simple to say oh well youll have to update to MN6, but thats simply a con to get more money (of course what the NAVIGON are there to do) i accept this, but to not look after excisting customers is not good practice.
However now im off my soap box, yes looks like il have to upgrade to MN6 for 129 quid. But at least this comes with the software already on SD card along with europe countrys also all on a 2gb card.
Would i be correct in saying that its simply a case of take exsisting card out and plug in new one? and the transonic is ready to go on MN6 ?
Regards

I had another look for Navigon 4 but it doesn't appear anywhere. I agree that MN4 is a great navigator and that MN5 was extremely buggy. I also agree that it is quite a risk upgrading to something that could be rubbish. I was using Destinator when I decided to purchase Co-Pilot Live 6, simply because it was the only software that had full coverage of Northern Ireland. What a complete wasted of £100. It was absolute rubbish. The most buggy thing I ever used. I sold it on ebay for £40 about a month later so I can understand your sceptisism. I would asked some of the guys on here about MN6 before buying it. That's what I intend on doing. £125 is a lot of money for something you are not too sure of. On the good side you will get much more up to date maps plus a host of additional features so there is still quite a lot to gain.
Good luck with your decision! |
