MioMap 3.2 Camera Alert Scripting

I'm developing a speedcam automute set of scripts for my C710 that work as is, such that when a camera alert is detected, the Mio lets our one turkey gobble, then the device sound is muted until the cam is passed. This is done almost entirely within the 'patch.ui' code. The main problem with this at the moment is that it also mutes the lovely Phillipa who is desperately trying to tell me which way to go, but has found herself well and truly gagged by the mute 'button' (nasty).
I have been unable to find where the alarm sounds are 'called' from so that I can intercept just the alarm sounds, without applying the 'kill all sound' type mute. Has anyone got a handle on from where the alarms are called. My suspicion is that they are hard coded into MM3.2 and as such cannot be re-directed/intrecepted.

Also, can anyone tell me how to increment a variable in the scripting. What I want to do (in pseudo code) is vTest = vTest + 1.
