Hi,

Have just downnloaded the latest software for my Tomtom go 500 It works Ok but I have a file that says there is corrupted data. The safety cameras are installed in the gb map file but do not appear in the POI file and do not come up. The previous version worked fine. All the settings are OK but no sign on the POI listing.

Also it appears to be difficult in switching off if connected to the computer. I can get it to work again if I leave the battery to drain down. Any one any ideas. Used Tom Tom home to download.

Thanks fo quick respose, hope you enjoy your new device. Christmas seems to become a technical quagmire trying to get things working!!!!! Wish I hadn't downloaded the new software it has worked fine for a year. If I do a back up does it wipe the card clean when it backups?

Have you checked Enable/Disable POI's are ticked?
Have you used FIND and typed P, then scrolled thru to pocket.....etc?
Guessing you are using OV2 database not HOME method.
Have you done a trusty RESET with a pin?

& No, Backups only copy the data ( manually by Drag & Drop or auto in TT HOME.
Restore copies it back and can overwrite but not wipe.

Hi Thanks, Have tried reset, if I remember correctlt the speed cameras used to come at the end after zoo. There is just nothing there. Yes I am using the OV2 which I have used for the last year, no trouble. its only the upgarde that has caused the problemThe other POI's that are ticked show up Ok. Strange thing is n one area where I live a cmera does show up, no sound and I can't see wher it is getting the data from. Must be possible to resolve this, I am in Hemel Hempstead at the moment and it is full of cameras!!

Ray, can you try to install the cameras using the traditional ov2 copy and paste method, you say there are three files per speed limit, are you also using the ogg voice warning files or not? - Mike

Ta for info where would I find an ogg file? On the old software I used to be able to say the type of sound I would like, in the new version is this somewhere else?

Ray. If you installed them using HOME, did you unzip the camera files into your Downloads folder? Only you say you put them in your GB map folder and installed with HOME, ..... so I am a little confused now.

If you unzip the PGPSW home version files into your TomTom HOME Downloads folder, then start TT HOME, you will see the pocketgps... stuff in the centre pane.

Use the INSTALL button to do that and they'll then appear in the right hand pane under POI.

Or do as mikealder syays, use the ov2 download and install manually. These are the files you place in the GB map folder yourself.

I am at another location now so have to wait till I get back to redo. After your help I have been able to get them to show now, if I use the demo the sound does not play. I will have to make do for the moment, when I get back I will reload. Will I have to delete the files first, and do I get rid of the corrupt data file. Sorry to be a nuisence, I do appreciate your help. Have you any comment on th greying out?

The greyed out icons were due to no custom pois in you current map folder, as you now apear to have the poi at least showing go to change preferences/ manage poi/ warn if poi on route and configure your warnings for each camera poi category. As an aside how many map folders do you have on the memory card?
The lack of sounds could be due to you running demo too quickly or most probable your custom data.chk file that contained the warning sounds will have been over-written when the software was upgraded, using ogg files will be easier to recover this situation once you are back at the main PC.
As for the corupt file leave it alone, its probably windows on the PC you are using that doesn't like the .chk file extension if you remove it the device won't boot - Mike
