Greetings, I've just bought a Navman 1000 (1010?) CF GPS unit for my PocketPC (Toshiba Genio).

It didn't ship with an installation CD (I'm talking to the seller about that...).

The Navman site doesn't seem to offer downloads for anything but old PPCs.

Any suggestions for where to locate the software.

Also - I like the Tom Tom mapping software; if I buy Tom Tom 2 I'm assuming its compatible?

Thanks in advance...

I bought it via ebay which is why I can't just ring up the reseller and ask for the CD.....

Cheap...but not much use without a driver for my PPC...

Thanks

Did you first check with Navman before purchasing to see if the Navman 1000 will work on the Toshiba Genio ?

The reason why I ask is the Navman 1000 card isn't sold now, and is an out of date orphaned product that hasn't been updated. There were problems where it wouldn't work on laptops and other devices, but it did work on iPAQ's and Casio's.

There is a download page at http://www.navman-mobile.com/downloads.php?id=AA005151 to see if the GPS card is working but it's only available for MIPS based processors.

I would contact Navman support.

No, I rather foolishly just bid and bought....and I should know better.

I found the same page earlier and have emailed Navman support but I'm guessing what the answer will be.

Cheers

You might be lucky, but from what I recall, the card really wasn't one of the most compliant ones and did have compatibility issues. If it doesn't work on laptops (from what I've heard), then it probably doesn't have much support.
