Been using tomtom on a pda since the palmtop days......
Got a new ONE v2 yesterday and boy is it impressive for the money.
Cleared my traffic account and registered the new unit and then paired my phone to the unit (an unsupported benq EL71) whilst in the car - the connection was so sweet after all the hassles I've had with BT/GPRS/WM5 over the past year.
Routing is quicker than on the dell (even though the clock speed is over twice as quick).
Just renewed my traffic sub for a year - better value than before and as I have free data on my contract far better value for me than using TMC (wasn't bothered about the lack of a connector - just another part to break)
The mount is sweet as well - dead simple and no wobbles (although the arm is a little short).
I moved from pda because my gps unit is knackered and so is my pda mount (been through loads over the years) and the software plus the other bits I'd need would have been more than the ONE.
One final point - battery life - I fully charged it last night and in the car foor an hour this morning - its been turned on and sitting on my desk (holding a 5 sat lock 3m from a window) with traffic on 20 minute updates since 7.45 - 3 hours ago - and is still showing 1/3 battery - I have the brightness down to 10% and no sound but this is far better than I was expecting)
Anyone thinking of buying ONE go for it - it is a great piece of kit. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

Time to update your sig. to V2 perhaps? Also, is this the UK or EU version? _________________ Tim |

Will change it to ONE and ONEv2 - I look after updates etc for my dads ONE.
Its the UK version but I think I've stuck my france plus map on the unit and it's asking to the activation code - will give it a go when I get home - will this work (don't need it to as not going away until next April just interested) _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

If the France Plus map is 6.xx, it should work. If you have only activated it once, for your Dell, then you are allowed to activate it again so long as you don't use it on the Dell as well. You will need the product code for the map and the device code for the ONE to do this. Go to www.ttcode.com and follow the instructions there. _________________ Tim |

thats down to u turning the screen bightness right down.. shame there aint a button for turning it on or off as required that would really extend the battery life..
its the lcd screen that takes most of the power..
i think its about two hours max for normal usage..
