Hi first off hello as im new on here.
I have a some questions which i hope someone could perhaps help me with.
I have a Ford Mondeo (2002) which comes with the Ford 6006e 6 disc changer.

I want to get my hands on a 9000 VNR to take its place, so first off i have been all over ebay and no joy. Any ideas?

Also am i right in that i shouldnt have much to do basicly just plug in the wiring i have to the 9000 i ask becaus ei saw a pic of a 9000 and it appears to have some extra slots, wheres as my 6006e has 3 main plugs and the antenna.

Hi Peter

Sorry no one has replied before - I have only just joined myself - hope you get this.

You will gather from my nickname that the very unit you are looking for has been the bane of my life for the last 2 years. I have a 2003 Mondeo with a 9000 Visteon headunit and 6 disc autochanger (under the passenger seat). The radio is great and I have an adapter (Connect2) in the CD autochanger socket (6CD disconnected). This give a pair of phono socket to let me input an Mp3 player. The Connect2 fools the headunit into thinking the input is from the autochanger. This all works well.

The 9000 fits straight-in where the 6000 was, but there is at least one extra input at the back for the GPS sensor (mounted centre bottom of screen). The Sat Nav works great

BUT

a. Ford have never made the TMC available (all about money and Licence)

b. They have never issued an update CD so the 2003 disc is the latest - I am now increasingly driving over green fields.

c. No facility for adding any data (cameras etc) -though it has POI date in the standard unit.

After 18 months of complaints and promises and prevarication, FORD have this week admitted that they will never update the discs for this model. They are now considering the compensation they will pay me for this.

You do see them on eBay from time to time.

My advise would be to buy Mio, Garmin or Tom Tom and have a better system
