Recently purchased RAC SATNAV110, which uses Route66 software on a Windows CE platform, with NavTeq maps.
The SD supplied seems to have some sort of restricted file structure, which does not allow writing, via anything other than the Sat Nav hardware, and there is no software supplied to allow PC access via the USB cable they supply with the unit.
As a result, there is no way to add additional POI information, to extend the camera data base.
To get round this, I have copied the data to an off the shelf SD card, which then allows me to update the POI info, but with this SD card installed, the GPS software only fires up when the SD is write protected, which then stops any changes within the unit, such as changing POI set ups/alarms, Favourites, History, etc.
GPS performance, user interface, and maps are good, with a reasonable touch screen display, making it a pretty good system for £200. Only downside is the SD card issue
If anyone has any ideas regarding a way round the memory card problem. I would be grateful for any advce. |
