Hi
I am hoping someone can help me, i have an ipaq 4700 and a bluetooth tomtom gps receiver and tomtom 3 software, i have paired the gps and the ipaq but it is not found by the tomtom program, I have had it working before but following a hard reset I am unable to get it up and running again.
I seem to remember something about coms settings and believe the gps was on coms 8 before but i am only offered coms 5 as a choice when trying to access the gps set from the tomtom program.
please help
many thanks

When getting connected in TT don't use the "other bluetooth" setting - I know logic say you should but this is Tom Tom we are talking about. Instead use the wired NMEA setting. You may then need to experiment with com ports on the first screen and baud rates on the next screen (try starting with 4800 for example) until you get the connection. Once done it will not need to be done again (until the next hard reset) _________________ Peter

If you are using tomtom GPS then ensure you have tomtom 3.07 installed, if not do a search and download and install. Once this is done you need to select TomTom Wireless and then Bluetooth Serial Port Com 8 . If you dont have the update installed it wont so you the correct port.
PS
If you are going to install TomTom again i would recommend that you backup your PDA's contents and do check your PDA's rom image to make sure it is up to date. If it is not i would download the updates from:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/family/model/6089.html?lang=en&cc=uk
(link might not work, HP are funny about links, www.hp.co.uk then download software and drivers, enter 4700, select ipaq, select OS then see the updates. _________________ Regards
