Problems aquiring position with TomTom3/ipaq/emtac jacket

Hi I have a IPAQ 5550 with a Emtac jacket running TomTom 3.

I find that when I do not use the GPS for say a day, it seems to take up to 3-4 minuites to find its position, and the date & time initially revers to some date in 2002.

Is there a setting I need to set to change this or is it normal?

This is normal. The jacket is old, and it's backup battery has probably died. So every day is Groundhog Day, and the jacket is performing a factory reset.
