problem with Activesync i think, please help!!

Hi, i have downloaded and installed poiedit and can get my pc to talk to it now i have reolved the proxy problem, thanks to you guys, now when i click on an item to update in the autoupdate manager and click on '+PDA', it comes up with an error message'UNABLE TO INITIALIZE CONNECTION TO REMOTE DEVICE-PLEASE CHECK THE DEVICE IS PROPERLY CONNECTED AND ACTIVESYNC IS INSTALLED AND ACTIVE'. The TT1 is connected to the usb port, and i have downloaded the latest active sync from microsoft but it doesnt seem to find the device.

can anyone tell me where i am going wrong please.

Just read back my message and it sounds like i am saying thanks to you guys it doesnt work now, i was saying that thanks to you guys the problems have all been resolved, hope nobody took it that way.
