If using add on external Aerial with I3, does the external aerial work alone or does the in built aerial do split duties? |

Got mine off eBay - well worth getting - as I had a UV treated (Renault) windscreen and couldn't get a singel/lock-on with one. Did notice that rechargeable batteries got used up slightly faster though... |

Most GPS aerials are active and require, typically a 5V, supply so will unfortunately use more power. |

The antenna dont need to be mounted externally. Mine is in the rear window and works great .This is probably du to it not being treated or coated as was mentioned. |
