|
|
I just went to the website http://www.destinator1.com/support.emb and the CAB file has changed, now double the size. I can't try it out as I have lent my Destinator to a friend, but if anyone else tries it, please post here.
Questions:
1. What is the new version #?
2. Are roundabout issues fixed?
3. Are routing issues fixed?
4. Are satellite aquisition issues fixed? |

1. Still showing as 3.025 in the about screen after it is installed.
2. No, still can't cope with roundabouts.
3. Doesn't appear to be any difference for the better.

AFAIK, PowerLOC haven't issued the update yet, so that will still be an older version. I'm waiting for PowerLOC to get back from the holidays to find out whether they're just going to release as is and put roundabout support back, or wait and get the routing fixed before releasing. |

Odd. The file is more than double in size from the previous 3.0.25: 1.3MB-->3.7MB. |

There may be some changes there, but trust me, that's not the version I am testing. Mine is around 200mb in size! That version on the Destinator website only holds an update to the program file and not routing, and the roundabout wasn't fixed until 3.0.32, 3.0.25 still had the bug with roundabouts. |

Did we get the bottom of what the CAB does? Is it worth installing or sticking with 3.0.25? How do you get later versions? |

According to Destinators FAQ these are the problems it fixes
Quote: | 32: When running Destinator 3 on Pocket PC I experience any of the following:
"Unrecognized error during path calculation"
"vt_createssolidBrush: no memory for HRBRUSH!"
"Unregistered Version. Would you like to register Destinator?" (when trying to switch maps). |

Nada. Since Christmas I have repeatedly asked when the new version that fixes roundabouts will be released publically, and have requested another version to try and help sort out the routing issue PowerLOC are seeing in Destinator 3, all I keep being told is that the update will be out in a weeks time, every week this slips by a week and I receive no new update.
The roundabout problem was fixed before Christmas by PowerLOC internally so I really can't see why they can't release this now.
Seeing that PowerLOC have had well over a month to resolve this issue and they have, they're just not releasing it to the public, I'll be amending the review page shortly to warn people about this.
I really hope they do post an update soon, but seeing the time that's already gone by since it's been fixed, I have this really bad feeling that it isn't going to get released soon. |
