Trust me, you're not going to see it lower than that - there is such thing as a buy price (and no I'm not going to divulge it). |

Surely, bearing in mind the previous post, it has to be a real bargain at that price, although my experience is that is not all that easy to find them actually available in the shops... as opposed to mail order.
My personal opinion is that the price may well come down in time, especially if other companies such as TomTom come out with a similarly (or better) specified model for the same sort of price. I can't now see it happening this side of Christmas though, and who knows, they may even turn out to be this year's 'must have' Christmas present!
I managed to pick one up 'in-store' at our local Comet last Saturday for £179.99 after asking them to match the advertised Argos price. It came in a very tightly sealed box, which obviously hadn't been opened before, which is something I always look for.
It included the USB driver CD, and the firmware was version 2.4 which I propose to upgrade to 2.5 before giving it a proper 'road-test'.
If you buy one now, I don't think you will be disappointed!... Go for it! |

Do you think that PC World pay Garmin the same amount as smaller retailers do? _________________ Gone fishing! |

Picked one up from Argos last night for £179.99 and a £10 voucher.
I did try to get the tomtom go 500 for £320 the other day from Argos but the aerial was an extra £50 and when I found out the hands free bluetooth was not compatible with my phone I wan't for paying an extra £200 for not many more features.
Best bit is if I can't get it to work with the aerial I will take it back to Argos under the 16 day guarantee so only cost me £12 to try satnav as I have been after one all year. |

I reckon you just got it in time, as it appears that their 'special offer' ended yesterday (24th October), and the price has now gone back up to £199.99 again.
Have just updated my software to ver 2.5, and it still works, which is always encouraging! |
