|
|
I've just loaded the TT5 Palm V5.12 update.
However I'm not sure it has installed properly.
2 new files (cn.prc and start.prc) have loaded, however the TT version information still shows I have version 5.000.
Also I still get the "Possible database overwrite problem." when I sync.
Has anybody else experienced this? |

why don't you clean it out and reinstall from scratch? It says "update" but in reality it's always a full version. _________________ Lutz

It's happen to me, now you have the program "navigator" updated (as launcher of tom tom) and the tom tom still 5.000
Tomorrow I've done the upgrade...and now it's don't turn off based on system prefs.
When you start the upgrade, there is a moment where tom tom say to you "now you can make a transfer"...in this moment!!! you must click on Hotsinc on Palm, and choose the TOMTOM card....
And all goes fine |

Mine just freezes up while re-routing, when I have MP3 playing on background. Without MP3 playing, it works great..
I have T|T5, GlobalSat BT-338, and TomTom v5.12. |

I've just tried this without success.
As the OP noted, I see two new files loaded and Hotsync error log has multiple lines like this:
-- Possible database overwrite problem. Backing up database great_britain-24a02c86.mac to file C:\...\Backup\great_britain-24a02c86_mac.PDB. The file contained database great_britain-24A02C86.mac data.
TTN still says v5.00.
I'm sure the original v5.00 installer allowed you to install to the SD card directly which is a lot quicker than Hotsyncing, but the v5.12 upgrade didn't give me the choice this time.
Any ideas how to fix this? |

I used to have these problems.
In the end I got fed up of lots of little problems that I performed a zero out reset on my Treo. This put it back to factory state. It is hard to do but it is even better than a hard reset. Don't forget to hotsync first.
I also renamed my profile to old so that I could start afresh with everything.
I installed TTN5.12 direct. It does not need to be upgraded from 5.
Then I installed the maps. I only use the GB maps as the plus ones make recalculation times very long. When I need to go into Europe I'll add the plus map.
Then I activated the map and so far have had no real problems other than TTN causing a reset every now & then.
This method is a bit drastic, but it has stopped all the problems I was having. _________________ Skoda Columbus and for emergencies: TomTom + iPhone 4 & TomTom car kit |
