|
|
We've just received a sample StomP-StomP GO shade for review and it's such a good solution that I want everyone to know about it!
The shade is designed to reduce glare and make the GO's screen more visible and it does this superbly. Made out of a soft and flexible washable material with a nicely emroidered 'foot' logo in red it is easily installed and also doubles up as a screen protector because it has been designed to fold down over the screen. The inside of the shade has even been made out of softer felt like material than the outside so that it does not scratch the screen.
We'll be putting the shade through its paces and providing a more detailed review with pictures in due course but in the meantime you can get hold of one of these excellent visors for the very reasonable price of $16.95 inc free worldwide delivery by visiting the creators website here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

May be a bit of a premature question, but how does it attach to the unit ? I can’t work it out from the photos.
Having asked that, for less than £10 I'lll take the risk. I have already ordered one ! |

It's rather clever, you remove the front bezel from the GO, around the edge of the visor is a strip which is'captured' when you re-affix the bezel so it can't become detached.
There is a strip of elastic which allows you to secure the shade when collapsed over the screen and the elastic even has a piece of neoprene like material attached that sits over the base contacts to protect them when it is stored which is nice to see.
I've only had it a few hours and it is the best accessory I have had for the GO, in our current weather it has to be a winner! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I honestly think it looks stupid but if it works for you then go for it. Looks are not always everything _________________ Regards

I have had the misfortune of meeting Mr Gourlay and can confirm that in his case looks are most definately not everything. |

I have just got mine and have to agree with Lostgerry.
It is excellent.
If anyone is using a home made card shade then this is far more efficient, and it stays on the TT and fits in the TT carrybag.
It doesn't look bad - certainly a lot better than my cardboard shade (although, as we know, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder).
If function is important to you (you want your TT screen to be usable in bright sunlight) this is a "no brainer". |

Sorry I agree this looks stupid, there is no way i would put one of those on my machine !! I would rather spend my money on the new voice prompts for tomtom by John Cleese - which by the way are hilarious and recommended for anyone that wants a laugh !!! |
