Just received my BT-338 and expected problems connecting it to TT, but no works perfectly.

My problem is the time to fix, this can be 20+ minutes or half a mile walk, I'm using it in the open air, not in a car. Is anyone else experiencing similar problems, and is there a solution.

I'm not sure if there is a setting that needs changing using Sirfdemo, or a firmware update.

your device may be defective. Looks like the backup battery doesn't hold the base data. I'd send it in for a replacement.

I've done a little more investigation, and it appears to be a common problem relating to bugs in the Sirf 3 firmware.

Not sure exactly what the problem is but it relates to the time being incorrect the date is reported as 2085 ? ? , and data not being flushed, if a cold reset is issued then a fix is acheived, which is similar to what I've experienced when removing the battery.

About to try this and will see how I get on.

the week cycle bug is unrelated to the issue you are experiencing. The year may be shown as 2085 (actually should show 1985) but the TTFF will be as fast as in normal operation.

If yu consistently see fix times of 20+ minutes then there must be a different cause.
