Hi, waiting for my tomtom go 300 to come, can any tell me where the antenna is (in the base of the holder as there is a multipin plug there !!)
I am thinking of putting the unit to the right hand side on the windscreen near the post, but not sure I will get a good signal.
thanks
ned

The built-in antenna is at thr top of the unit, there is also a connector at the bottom for an external antenna.

If you already have a GO checking the signal is easy - go to the GPS Status screen. You will see grey and/or blue bars showing the satellite numbers and corresponding signal quality. Compare the values outside and inside the car.

Most car windscreens do not affect reception. The most common ones to have problems are the French cars with the athermic windscreens. These are the ones that look blue/purple from outside.
