From what I understand, the Republic of Ireland hasn't been very well mapped? Would anyone know which of the current Pocekt PC GPS s/w on market (TomTom Navigator, SmartSt Pro, Co-Pilot, Destinator, etc.) has the most detailed mapping (and best) of Ireland?

Thank you

Were you successful in obtaining such software?

I have an IPAQ 3970 (hardly used now that I have a P800 smartphone) and would like to use it for in car navigation.

As I live in Dublin I require software that supports Ireland and includes detail city maps.

Would appreciate any suggestions as what to get!

Live in Dublin and have just got the Navman iCN 630 and have been pretty impressed with the Navtech SmartMaps on it for Dublin, Cork and Galway.

Except that north Tallaght is not mapped but south is for some reason

But outside of the cities the mapping just sticks to main arterial routes.

Was in Connemara at the weekend and it was blank.

Then again upto this year there was no mapping at all for Ireland so at least its a start.
