Hi,
In the instructions, it says to copy the POCKETGPS_UK_SC.OV2 and POCKETGPS_UK_SC.BMP files to my pocketpc. I can't find these files. The closest I can find is the pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2 and pocketgps_uk_specs.bmp files.
Are these the ones I need to copy over?
Thanx,
Mark |

Hi guitarmarky,
As I see it for UK coverage of speed cameras and redlight cameras you need to copy 10 files to your pda, these being as follows:
pocketgps_uk_gatso.bmp,
pocketgps_uk_gatso.ov2,
pocketgps_uk_mobile.bmp,
pocketgps_uk_mobile.ov2,
pocketgps_uk_redlight.bmp,
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2,
pocketgps_uk_specs.bmp,
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2,
pocketgps_uk_temp.bmp,
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2,
I hope this helps _________________ chris

Chris' instructions are correct - the camera database has been split into several files relating to different types of camera. Gatso is fixed sites, Mobile known sites for temporary speed traps, Redlight is red light cameras, Specs the SPECS 'section' camera, and Temp for temporary sites, such as in roadworks.

Thanks for the info. I haven't been out on the road with it yet, but i'm sure it has worked.
Cheers,

This sounds so thick, but I have to ask... The ov and bmp files go to the Ipaq, the Excel files, where do they go? |

They don't seem to be needed. I have copied over the OV & BMP files as above & it seems to work fine. I drove to London yesterday, & every camera came up. You can set up checkpoint to give advance warnings of the cameras.
Cheers

For TomTom software, you only need the .ov2 and .bmp files - the rest are there for users of other software.

|
|
I am a very new user to TOMTOM and IPAC.
I am trying to load checkpoint and I am confused about the "Button for adding a POI". Apart from that I think Checkpoint is installed ok.
I am also trying to add POI "Safety Camera".
I cannot find the files stated inthe instruction "POCKETGPS_UK_SC.OV2 and POCKETGPS_UK_SC.BMP".
I have read advise off this web site and only selected a number of the files. However it stated that there is not enough space on the SD Card. Should I be installing them there or on the device its self.
If on the device what is the location.
Once loaded please can you tell me how to activate in TOMTOM.
Apologies for all the questions any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I think your speed camera instructions are very poor. It starts be telling us the latest version contains 3 files and then it lists 6???? Anyway I go to the checkpoint instructions and try to follow them but it tells me to copy 2 files from the camera database that are not even there??
(POCKETGPS_UK_SC.OV2 and POCKETGPS_UK_SC.BMP)
I've got no further as it appears you need these files. |

Hi all,
Must agree with icecube there. This is my 1st post and I'm just trying to feel my way around. Yes it seems the instructions do need to be revisited/ revised. Apart from there being 6 files listed, when you do extract the zip files there are 27 files , 3 of which are txt files, and one folder. I have gathered that all the bmps and ovs are the important/necessary files for TT but even the enclosed readme doesn't say. So what happens to the folder in the zip as well, assuming we do not need the csv file at all?
It's all a bit confusing especially to us newbies. We really appreciate all the effort you've put into the soft and site. A touch more effort will be even more appreciated. After all if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well.
Again my thanks and appreciation to all of you guys out there!
Al. |
