I have been purchasing on the Internet from its earliest day's and I have never, and I do mean never come across such an inept or infantile bunch of idiots as this crowd.
I ordered a case and stylus for my Ipaq, simple enough order to process you'd think. Not for PDAMODS!
They sent me the wrong case and stylus. I emailed them telling them of the mistake and asking how I could get a replacement.
So began a MONTH of the most childish correspondence I have ever encountered.
Ian and Sam at PDAMONS seemed genuinely hurt that I would even suggest that their company could make such a mistake - you can check elsewhere on this site to find I am not the only one who has experienced such problems!
I was told that it was I who had been in the wrong and until I admitted my error I would not get any replacement!
It almost got amusing at one stage. I wasn't sure if I was dealing with a bona fide company or some kids had hacked into their system and were playing a prank.
But it was PDAMONS, and after about ten emails Sam (he seems to be the teenager of the pair) told me that I was an example of the 'blame them' culture and that I'd been rude - 'so there' .
I am only too willing to upload the whole correspondence with this company and let you all decide who was being rude -'SO THERE' !
I gave up and am now selling the case and stlus on Ebay.
BE WARNED! All it cost me was £20 and having to humour a couple of mental defects for a couple of weeks. God help you if you intend spending any real money with this crowd.

Paddywhack,
I know it's frustrating when you don't receive the service you expect from a company (especially when it gets 'childish', as you say), but starting multiple threads saying the same thing, or adding the same identical posting to other threads (well-intentioned though this obviously is) is not the 'done thing' on these forums.
It gets rather frustrating for readers to see the same thing many times.
Could you see about deleting the repeat postings, please ? _________________ Getting older and more senile by the minute !
Posted: Mon May 23, 2005 6:15 pm Post subject: Apologies for repeat posting
Sorry 'bout' that. I did try to find a way to delete the mistaken repeat posting but am new to this sort of thing.
I've never been so annoyed by a company to post before. I'm looking forward to being able to post something positive, and will. Only this time I promise I'll only do it once.
One things for sure it won't be about PDAMODS!
You ordered the following items on line via our web site:
1 ViVo 3-in-1 Custom Pocket PC Stylus for hp iPaq h4150 / h4155 series
1 ViVo Black Leather Case for hp iPaq h4150 / h4155 series
You emailed us telling us that we have sent you the wrong items and that we had made a serious error with your order. We emailed you back stating that you had not ordered items for your IPAQ which is apparently an IPAQ 2410 not a 4150 and that we would need to change the items for you as you had mistakenly chosen the wrong models for both items.
At this point we received numerous rude responses from you and we would like to reiterate that we do not condone swearing or any abuse to our staff in any way, shape or form. If you do not require the items you should send them back and you will be refunded for them.
Would someone please explain to me how to upload the email communication I've had with PDAMODS.
It will make interesting reading for those who are interested. PDAMODS bluntly refused to exchange the wrong products they sent me till I admitted it was MY mistake.
I kept - as will be seen by the email communications - pointing out that it was NOT my mistake and that the whole thing should be easily rectified if they would only instruct where to send back the wrong produts. PDAMODS continued to refused to do this till I accepted it as my mistake. All who read this will understant how infantile and ridiculous I found all this, so alien to any other dealings I've had with online companies before.
I have neither the time or inclination to engage in abusive emails.
Once again if someone will help me uploading the exchange of emails it will make interesting reading and show this company not only as incompetent but liars.

Dear Sir
I purchased an Ipaq 2410 Vivo premium black leather case and Ipaq 2410 3in1
stylus from you on 8th April.
Unfortunately the case and stylus you sent me do not fit my 2410 Ipaq,
somehow you dispatched me the wrong model case and stylus.
How do I go about returning these items to you and getting the right case
and stylus in return?
I cannot find any email from your company confirming this order though you
should be able to trace it from my visa or email address.

I don't have an order number, it was purchased with my Visa card from your
site, surely there is a record of that.
Apologies for only getting back to you now but I am only out of hospital

I did not order products for the 4150. I ordered products for the Ipaq
2410. Hence this painfully long correspondence. Could you please tell me
what I have to do to return the 4150 products you wrongly sent to me and
have the right model Ipaq case and stylus sent in their place. Once again I
ordered a case and stylus for the Ipaq 2410, that is what I would like sent
out. If this is not possible please indicate where to send back the 4150
case and stylus for a full refund.

Sorry, you state that you ordered products for the 2410, you have not
actually ordered products for the 2410 - you have made a mistake - you seem
to blame this on us. Admit your mistake first and then we can take it
further.

Dear Ian
'Admit my mistake'! The last time I heard that comment was at the age of
six in the school playground!
While I'm beginning to find this rather amusing I do have a life to be
getting on with, so would you be so kind as to forward me the email of
either your head of department or some rational person I can deal with.
That way this simple mistake can be speedily rectified and you can get on
with tormenting some other unlucky customer.

Dear Sir,
Sorry it was your rudeness and blaming us culture that was unacceptable -
you made a mistake and blamed it on us - we do not torment customers because
normally people admit they have made a mistake but you are obviously not one
of those.
You will need to send the items back and state clearly which PDA you have
and we will change them for the correct Pocket PC.
Thanks

Dear Sam
I would genuinely be interested if you could indicate to me just where in
our protracted correspondence I was in anyway rude.
I have a copy of all the emails that I sent, and while utterly frustrated I
was in no fashion either rude or disrespectful.
This matter could and should have been rectified with one email. The fact
that it has gone on this long is simply insane.
I will sell the case and stylus on Ebay as I have no wish to continue this
correspondence.
I will make one prophesy in conclusion. If this is the way you treat your
customers - and by all accounts I am not alone - I have no doubt that you
will flounder.
I will naturally make every effort to ensure that others do not have to
endure the pointless nonsense that I've had inflicted.

Dear Sir,
We treat all our customers with the utmost respect, we do not normally get
customers blaming us for their mistakes - you are human and you made a
mistake we all do it.
ormation.
If someone can tell me where in this sad little drama I was in any way abusive I would be grateful. I'm sure PDAMODS were hoping that they could tell a lie and I'd simply go away. All this for £20! I still don't know just why this company act in this way. Why compound lamentable customer service by then lying about that customer in a pathetic attempt to undermine their complaint.
Once again if they act this way against me over such a small purchase, how would they deal with you if you spend more?
Well, there you go. Those idiots at PDAMODS are at it again. I gave up after 6 weeks of exchanging pointless emails with them about a wrongly sent item. See http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=17548. I have now referred the matter to my local trading standards (http://www.consumercomplaints.org.uk).

PDAMODS were quick to call me an abusive customer. Suddenly when I upload all the correspondence I've had with them they go silent!
Why would you bother lying like that when the evidence is so easily put up for all to see?
All I can think is that they hoped most people would believe them and not me, and that would be that. No such luck.
So how about a long awaited apology PDAMODS? You were the liars, for once own up, say sorry and accept that you’re after sales service is a contradiction in terms.

I recently made my first order with PDAMODS. I received my order in what I would say was record time considering it was over the Christmas period. I opened my parcel I was disappointed to find that I had been sent only 1 Tomtom Go Custom Holder and 3 Pack Stylus Set when I had ordered 3 and had been charged for 3.
I contacted PDAMODS immediately.

The was happy with what I ordered and will use them again.
I get the feeling that the suspicions about PDAMODS will go on and on.
If I were a business with the apparrent reputation they seem to have on this forum (and as ANY businessman or politician should know, it is the perception of what is true which matters far more than the actual truth), I would not be happy about the numbers of first-time posters praising the company.
There might be posts from regular posters praising the company, but, as soon as it was brought to my attention about a number of first time posts - the damage was done. Once suspicions have been raised, it takes quite a bit to satisfy them, and to be honest I would have thought that the continued '1st post praises' have for the majority done the exact opposite of what they were intended to do.
It has just about reached the stage where you could say 'If you have had really good service from them, and you are not a longstanding forum member - do them a favour and keep quiet!'
Firstly, let me tell you that I have nothing to do with PDAMODS other than being a first time customer.
I purchased my first Tom Tom Go over a year ago now, I have now upgraded to a Tom Tom 500, and you can find my postings on [url]www.mytomtomgo.com forum und the user my name of euroboyfire (Pound male working for the Fire Service)
I purchased TWO Tom Tom One’s at Christmas as presents for my children it was when I was searching for cases for them that I came across PDAMODS web site.
I think it helps all Tom Tom users if you can post negative or positive experiences with company’s and web sites.
Euroboyfire, it is always difficult in cases like these, and in your case a most unfortunate welcome to what I feel is on the whole a really good forum.
I note that you come from a fire service background, I was once a fire underwriter. We both know that fires are more likely in businesses which are not doing so well and are fully insured - there is statistical proof. However, in no way does it mean that ALL fires in well insured businesses having financial dificulties are fraudulent - just that a higher percentage of them are. As you most likely know from your own experience, there will be a percentage which are most obviously genuine or fraudulent, but as for the rest, there may be little or no proof either way - just suspicion.
Unfortunately, human nature being as it is, the innocent are far too often tarred with the same brush as the guilty - the point I was trying to make in my post. I was not trying to offend anyone, quite the opposite. Perhaps I should have said ''If you have had really good service from them, and you are not a longstanding forum member - do them and yourself a favour and keep quiet!'
Something which will be interesting to see, is how many of those new members go on to be regular contributors to the forums.
