Can anybody get MapSonic working on a Palm T3? I've tried it (The following unrecoverable error occured: A file required for the correct operation of the application is missing. Please reinstall the application.) and MapViewer (Fatal Exception) without success. They certainly look as if they'll be better than Mapopolis (random crash, copies maps from the SD card to the main memory - annoying when you've got a 128 MB SD card full of maps and you select "Load continuous maps").
Failing that, suggestions for good software for routing for Palms? |

An associate of mine has. No problems encountered at all.
Suggest uminstall and then try another "clean" install.

I have a copy of the Latest patch software for Mapsonic. You have to load 2 palm files to enable this to work in the extended screen mode, but these came with the patch and all installed automatically.
The problem I have with mine is that it works fine with a serial mouse, but gives a fatal error and requires a reset for the T3 to work further. I have verified this is the case today and will be raising the issue with Michelin support.
When used with the serial gps the display looks really good in both portrait and landscape mode. _________________ Mike Barrett |

I should have mentioned that both TomTom and Navman are shortly releasing their Navigation systems on the Tungsten PDAs _________________ Mike Barrett |

You need to FIRST launch Mapsonic, THEN connect the mouse GPS.
At the end you need to unplug the mause gps, exit from the navigation mode, wait that the mapsonic display "NO GPS" and then exit Mapsonic. |

1- Install the T3 DIA compatibility plugins (AppSlipRotate.prc & StatusBarLib.prc) on your T3, you can find them on the palmone website.
2- Hotsync and reset
3- Open the install folder of ViaMichelin (eg: "c:\program files\via michelin\")
4- Doubleclick Mapsonic.prc to install it
5- Doubliclick in InstMS.exe, this will add several files to the palm install tool
6- Hotsync and Reset
7- Voila! :D |
