after reading all the reviews and feedback about the TTG and the 510 i went for the 510... and it arrived yesterday... obviously i pulled it out of the box and began stabbing the buttons to see what it all did and the first thing i tried was the postcode search and was very disapointed when i found out that i couldnt do a proper search...what it the point of having it at all if it just gets me to somewhere close !! .. anyway i loaded up the speed camera stuff with no probs and thought i could do similar with the postcode POI's.... i have tried the central london one, but as soon as i get to the POI editor screen it all just freezes... can i import the POI's from the site and they should work?
i have been out this morning on the A2 and was fairly impressed with the unit, and the speed camera import worked fine...there were a couple of occasions when the locations were a bit out... but overall i was quite impressed.
the thing i really want to know is it possible to load the postcode POI's onto the 510... i loaded the Jeep dealership POI DB onto it easily enough..
also...i could see many other maps available...im going to rio for new year and would have liked to take my 510, but couldnt find a map, are there any other places i can get a map for it or do they have to come from navman?
the only other thing i would like to see is a traffic aviodance alert... i live in south london and if the 510 could get traffic updates and change my route home for me it would be fantastic ! as the only option at the moment is a 2 box solution... i have a treo 600 phone and can get the traffic I system....has anybody got any thoughts on that system? couldnt see to many posts about it? |

No, you can't load on the postcode POI's. And from what I gather, the situation is unlikely to change.
As far as traffic avoidance goes, you would have been better off buying a trafficmaster unit instead. Obviously the Navman is unable to connect to the outside world. |

You can enter any POI in you like as long as you enter it in the correct style. I assume that you had the correct co-ords in the right format in POI Editor and maybe fluked it! |
