Wonderful guys.
Your replies have cracked me up ......
Oh yes, a friend of mine who gave it to me when he returned home abroad a month ago, bought it at Halfrauds last October.
Sadly I had no receipt.
I wonder if he might have dropped it before I had it.
Here she is at peace now....R.I.P Tom Tom ....
The convertible story is feasible I reckon and do you think that it might be repairable?
The back looks OK !!!!

Paula, could you please reduce the size of your photos, as it makes it difficult to read the posts.
The forum rules state that:
Quote: | If you link to any images in a post they should be no more than 450 pixels in width
and no more than 800 pixels in height.
Images that exceed this size limit will be removed. |
Thanks. _________________ Anita

That's OK, Paula. I'm sure you didn't realise, but I think you'll agree it makes it easier for everyone.
Thanks.
G'night.
PS That's great! Thanks! _________________ Anita

Hi everyone,
Just spotted this on AOL this morning.
So I am not the only person in the world to chuck a SatNav out of the window ....
Have had a Garmin StreetPilot Sat Nav for years.
Struggle to use it. It picks some strange ways.
Recently went on a journey (a place we had not been before) as we got close to our destination it gave directions what road signs gave, was away from were we wanted to be, miles down some back roads, then round a bend lo and behold right to the places car park.
Will not call it again, would not have found it by myself in 2-years of Sundays.
Incidentally once thrown from the car when I could not get it to understand were I wanted to go, yet it still works.
Therefore, if I had to buy a new one it would be a Garmin. |

Note to Mods:
Would it be worth while maintaining an up to date list of models which do not support PGPSW database and audible alerts as a sticky at the head of this forum. It would save a great deal of time searching through specs

The instruction list at the bottom of the download page is kept as up-to-date as possible - eg it shows that the Start, Ease and XL-2 does not have the facility to warn about nearby POIs (not just 3rd party cameras). _________________ Gerry
