It's stopped wanting to download a new map now. I also think that the reason it sent me a new one is that they have re-named it?
I have a "Map of Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland" which was the original and now a "UK and IE plus major roads of WE" which it downloaded yesterday. Both appear to be the same size and have same version number.
On pressing the more info link on the second it gives a picture and description as per the TomTom website and on the original a no description available message.
SO the big question is...has the map changed? |

I'm shown an enthusiastic message to try the beta when I open "home"
After some previous bad experience with the company I decided to resist and come here to see what others thought of it first
Glad I did!
I've got a One XL connected to it.... and there's no warning in their message about the software compatibility
top mark to you guys
and -100 out of 10 to TomTom - again
Thanks

Apart from the obvious problems with location being wrong (I too was shown in Amsterdam despite being in NW England) and slow response.
I think the worst thing is the interface, its a disaster. As others have said the existing version with all options easily accesable is far superior.
The new interface is a bit like that on the device with several screens of a handful of icons. Of course if you miss the option you want you have to click several times to get back to the correct page.
Looks to me the interface has been devised for novices.
Might be OK if TT could incude the option to have choice of existing or new layout, say experienced user and novice. |

Any ideas? I have only had this unit for a few days and although it seems to be an excellent device as a sat-nav and phone handsfree unit, I have had endless problems with connectivity to my PC and TT Home... and can't therefore update it or use MapShare...
Help! |
My first 910 had this fault and had to be replaced. |

So if there is a version 1.6 of tthome out, can people who dont have it on a cd with a new purchase of a 720 download it and use it? If so, could someone upload it so i can try the 1.6 and see if it runs better than the beta version2? _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

TomTom have just announced that today TomTom Home 2.0 comes out of beta and will be offered to all users of the GO520 and GO720 satnav devices.
They are still working on a version for older hardware platforms. _________________ Mike Barrett |

Hi
Started using new Home 2 with my classic One and it works fine, Updates the firmware and downloads everything fine. It did start up in in a foreign country at first but underneath it came up with define home which I did and now it always opens correctly!
Just lucky I guess by the sounds of things |
