I'm pretty sure this is a mistake, and these software versions were not intended to be installed by Home on a standard unit, although if you installed v8.392 by another method, it's quite likely Home will then continue to update from there.

For info, Home is NOT offering it for my Go720, which is currently running bog-standard v8.351 software.

Makes sense. Installed the 8.393 and it refused to work properly. Back to 8.392 and all is fine...

If you don't mind, what did not work with 8.393?

One of my maps refused to work. The original Western Europe map was fine but the Australian one did not like it. But as I have messed around with the Aus map and never done anything with the W europe map it makes sense as I may have done something to affect the Oz map working.

I think. Maybe i need to reinstall navcore again as Oz map is on an SD card and W Europe map on the hard disk

Same here for both my X30 units.

Hi Folks
Well, I have tried all the navcores over time and have never found anything better than the 8.302. It has never frozen or let me down in any shape or form. And, as someone has already pointed out, whenever a new version has been released bits have been added and bits (important bits) have been knocked on the head. Er! I think I will stay with v8.302.

Just out of interest, have any of you (few) who were offered 8.393 on the x20's & x30's been able to "Operate my GO" in TTHome emulation?

After I received my RMA 730 replacement unit I updated it via HOME. I was offered 8.392. After updating the unit it would not "Operate my GO". Plus there were other icons that did nothing based upon the fact that I did not have the matching "Work" map required for their use. I tried it for about a week or so and finally back-dated it to 8.351.

Has there been any update to this situation? Are we X20/X30 users ever likely to get Navcore 9.x?

I know nothing of any official plan, but experience tells me that the answer is most likely no. First, I had a 910, and that was updated for a fair while, until the 930 appeared IIRC. I think I'd had two big updates in that time which gave me more than I had when I bought it. Given that they did a big update for the x40s and not for the x30s says a lot, and given that the update is still not good, yet they now have a major workload to finish the 1000s would suggest to me that they'd not want to add another device to their "oh darn now we have to fix those issues too" list.

I could be wrong though!
